Special One-Day KJ Class at IHM
A one-day special KJ class was conducted at IHM by our native Japanese instructors. The session began with the basics — students were introduced to Japanese counting and self-introduction phrases, helping them take their first step into the language.Students were then divided into small groups of six, with each group guided by a native Japanese instructor. The focus of the session was on practical Japanese communication for hospitality settings.
The group format created a fun and supportive environment where students could practice real-life role-play conversations, improving both fluency and confidence.

👩💻Job-Relevant Skills
Students practiced essential customer service phrases through structured role-play dialogues covering key hospitality scenarios.
Check-in Procedures:
Students learned polite greetings such as “Irasshaimase” (Welcome) and basic requests like “Chekkuin onegaishimasu” (Check-in, please).
Handling Guest Requests:
This included asking about meal timings and making requests such as a room change.
Dining Service:
Students practiced polite expressions used while serving food and appropriately thanking customers.
Troubleshooting & Complaints:
Role-plays focused on handling issues such as a broken air conditioner or missing towels, with emphasis on proper apologies and solutions.
A major highlight of the session was the introduction to “The 7 Key Customer Service Phrases” (7大接客用語). Students learned how to use important expressions such as “Kashikomarimashita” (Certainly / I understand), “Shoushou omachi kudasai” (Please wait a moment), and “Moushiwake gozaimasen” (We sincerely apologize) in appropriate professional contexts—from accepting requests to offering sincere apologies.
The small-group practice guided by native instructors significantly enhanced the students' fluency, confidence, and understanding of Japanese hospitality etiquette.
