Japanese Language and Culture Exhibition at DPS Ranchi

We are delighted to share that a Project Model Exhibition was successfully conducted at DPS Ranchi, in the school premises on 23rd December,  showcasing students’ creativity, research skills, and cultural understanding. A special highlight of the exhibition was the Japanese Language and Culture Exhibition, which reflected students’ deep engagement with global learning.

A total of 18 students from Classes 6 and 7 participated in this exhibition. Under the guidance of the in-charge, students independently prepared their projects and confidently explained various aspects of Japanese culture and language to parents, teachers, and fellow students. Their enthusiasm, clarity of thought, and presentation skills were truly commendable.

Exhibition Highlights

1. Cultural Differences Between Japan and India

One group of students presented a comparative model highlighting the cultural differences between Japan and India. They explained daily habits, social etiquette, traditions, and values, helping visitors understand how cultures can be different yet equally rich and meaningful.

2. Traditional Clothing & Cherry Blossom of Japan

Another group showcased traditional Japanese attire along with the significance of the Cherry Blossom (Sakura). Students beautifully explained how cherry blossoms symbolize renewal, beauty, and the transient nature of life in Japanese culture.

3. Model of Mount Fuji

A dedicated group prepared an impressive model of Mount Fuji, Japan’s iconic landmark. They shared interesting facts about its geographical importance, cultural symbolism, and its role in Japanese art and history.

4. Japanese Games and Manga Characters

Adding fun and creativity to the exhibition, one group introduced visitors to Japanese games and popular manga characters. Traditional games like Kendama were demonstrated, sparking curiosity and excitement among students and parents alike.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

The exhibition was a wonderful example of experiential learning, where students took ownership of their projects and learned through research, collaboration, and presentation. Such activities not only enhance academic understanding but also build confidence, communication skills, and global awareness. We appreciate the efforts of all participating students, teachers, and organizers for making this exhibition a meaningful and enriching experience.
