Cultural Exchange Event in DPS, Ranchi for classes 3 and 4
A remarkable cultural exchange event took place between Delhi Public School (DPS), Ranchi, India, and Nara Ikuei Global Elementary School, Japan, bringing together students from both institutions to share the rich traditions and cultures of India and Japan. The event aimed to foster a spirit of international understanding and friendship through engaging activities and thoughtful presentations.

The event commenced with an exciting showcase by the talented students of DPS Ranchi, specifically those from Class 3. Dressed in vibrant traditional costumes representing various states of India, the students highlighted the diversity of Indian culture. Each student proudly displayed attire from different regions, such as sarees, dhotis, turbans, offering a colorful display of India’s cultural heritage. The array of costumes sparked great interest among the Nara students, who were fascinated by the intricate details and significance behind each outfit.
Following this, Class 4 students of DPS Ranchi took the stage to share fascinating insights about India’s national symbols. The students gave a comprehensive presentation covering the Indian national anthem, national animals, and other iconic symbols of the country, helping their Japanese counterparts better understand India’s rich cultural and national identity.


The event continued with a session from Nara Ikuei School. Class 3 students from Nara Ikuei introduced their peers to traditional Japanese games, allowing everyone to actively participate. These games not only demonstrated the playful side of Japanese culture but also promoted teamwork and engagement. The Class 4 students from Nara Ikuei followed up with a fascinating presentation on Ozoni, a traditional Japanese New Year’s soup. The Japanese students explained the cultural significance of Ozoni and its role in celebrating the New Year, a custom that is steeped in history and tradition.

An interactive session then followed, where the students from both schools asked each other questions, learning about the similarities and differences between their respective cultures. The students eagerly took turns asking and answering questions, sharing their personal experiences, and gaining new perspectives. This exchange fostered a deeper understanding of the unique traditions and customs from both India and Japan.
The event concluded with a heartfelt note of thanks. Both schools expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to learn from each other and deepen their cultural connections.
